Once a petrol station, this futuristic garage now combines cuisine, cars and Ditec brand technology.
Where: Ristorante Garage Italia, Piazzale Accursio 86, Milan, Italy
What: Lapo Elkann, in collaboration with architect Michele De Lucchi and chef Carlo Cracco, has created a luxury garage which unites the worlds of food and cars under one roof. While the exterior remains the same, the internal structure has been completely reinvented: two floors feature curved and disproportionate roofs, rounded edges and futuristic lines. The restaurant, situated on the first floor, features a terrace and the Riva VIP area, while on street level, there is a café, and the basement features the factory. Featuring ad hoc furnishings: mufflers as lamps, seats featuring racing images, Ferrari seats used as armchairs, and in the middle of the room, the body of a 250 GTO has been transformed into a cocktail bar.
Project: The close attention to detail has not missed anything, not even the Garage Italia Customs automatic doors. A game of speed and movement: 3 Ditec brand solutions for this fascinating location of lights and motors. Two Ditec DAB205 automation for single swing doors and a Ditec Sprint two-wing operating device.
Thanks to the excellent work of the Daxdoor team, Entrematic’s local partner who, with their usual professionalism, carried out the installation, Ditec brand automation are a part of this futuristic hub.
